Disaster assistance is now available in communities which have been affected by the Victorian floods and storms commencing on 26th January 2022 under the jointly funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).
Member for Mallee, Anne Webster said the DRFA will assist councils with the costs of road and infrastructure repairs and clean-up and support residents with emergency assistance where needed.
“The extreme weather brought strong winds, heavy rainfall and flash flooding that left extensive debris across roads and properties,” Dr Webster said.
“Support to Mildura Rural City Council is available for the costs of the restoration of essential public assets.
“The Australian Government is working closely with the Victorian Government and we are ready to provide further assistance as necessary.”
Affected local councils should contact Emergency Management Victoria via email ndfa@emv.vic.gov.au to discuss the availability of assistance.
