Net Zero 2050
Manufacturers need 24/7 reliable power, so they can make things in Australia, and support Aussie jobs.
The Coalition’s responsible energy plan features renewables and gas, but also includes nuclear energy by 2050, to provide cheap, clean and consistent energy to return Australia to an industrial and manufacturing powerhouse.
As coal fired power plants are retired, the Coalition will replace them with zero emissions nuclear energy, as the world’s major economies are doing.
Labor’s experimental, expensive and unproven ‘renewables only’ approach will leave Australians with unreliable weather-dependent energy.
Federal Labor’s renewable energy target – 82% renewables by 2030 – is considerably behind schedule, as is Victoria’s commitment to 95% renewables by 2035. Labor's target of 43% carbon dioxide emissions reduction by 2030 has become unachievable.
