Mallee’s funding drought continues to break thanks to Coalition election commitments, with $750,000 put on the table for 'The Wesley' Performing Arts Centre in Horsham

I was so encouraged to see farming communities united in their passion and hope for the future, despite a drier season, a higher cost of doing business under Albanese and Allan Labor Governments.

Not only has income tax gone up 26.8 per cent, mortgage repayments are up 41 per cent, gas prices are up 35 per cent, insurance 33 per cent, the cost of bread 18 per cent and rent 15 per cent – to name just a few.

During their destructive three years in office, Labor has failed to fund one mobile black spot in Mallee, which takes in over one third of Victoria.Worse still, they’ve created more black spots in a botched shutdown of the 3G network.

Mallee’s funding drought turned around, after securing a $950,000 commitment from the Coalition.

The mood at recent Field Days has been soured by the looming threats to farming from industrial-scale energy projects and mining operations. I will emphasise every time that social licence is paramount.
