Australia is at a turning point as the two governing forces in Canberra lay out very different visions for our nation.
Labor continues to divide, setting up arguments at the dinner table about whether mum, grandpa or the young adults deserve a better share of Labor’s socialist redistribution of wealth.
The Nationals in Coalition set out a fairer approach, putting all Australians first and letting you keep more of the money you earn by addressing bracket creep and winding back out-of-control government spending.
Labor’s budget provides a measly $250 income tax offset which fails to address (a) rampant inflation, (b) tens of thousands more in interest rate driven mortgage repayments under Labor, and consequently higher rentals, and (c) the average taxpayer will lose $5,000 by 2029 due to bracket creep. We will give workers more of their own money back through our Tax Back Guarantee.
Labor’s solution to their own, home-grown, inflation problem is to target older Australians who have worked hard, ripping away private health insurance rebates for those over 65, costing them hundreds if not thousands more annually.
While Labor gaslight young Australians that capital gains tax and negative gearing changes will make it fairer for them to save for a home, the Albanese Government is - in truth - making it harder, by removing the very tools that made the Government’s own frontbench wealthy.
The Coalition will slash the true causes of inflation – Labor’s wasteful government spending - and follies like ‘Net Zero’ that undermine fuel, food & energy affordability and security.
Another wasteful program is Labor’s destructive water buybacks and I am bringing Shadow Minister for Water, Michael McCormack MP, in early July to discuss the Murray-Darling Basin Plan and responsible use of CEWH environmental water. Keep an eye out and email anne.webster.mp@aph.gov.au if you’d like to see the Shadow Minister.
Robinvale – Euston has significant housing pressures and the Coalition’s $5 billion housing infrastructure policy will help councils build roads, plumbing et cetera vital for new housing. Labor has copied this policy to the tune of $2 billion, and The Nationals will ensure regional Australia gets its fair share.
