Divisive budget falls flat

This week was a turning point for Australians as the two governing forces in Canberra laid out very different visions for our nation.

Labor chose to continue to divide, setting up arguments at the dinner table about whether mum, grandpa or the young adults deserve a better share of Labor’s socialist redistribution of wealth.

The Nationals in Coalition set out a fairer approach, putting all Australians first and letting you keep more of the money you earn by addressing bracket creep and winding backout-of-control government spending.

Labor’s budget provides a measly $250 Working Australians Tax Offset (‘WATO’) which fails to address (a) rampant inflation, (b) tens of thousands more in interest rate driven mortgage repayments under Labor, or (c) the reality that average taxpayer will lose $5,000 by 2029 due to bracket creep.

The Coalition will also cap migration by ensuring we only bring in more people if there are houses for them to live in, as Labor tracks towards bringing 2 million more people into Australia since coming to office, but nowhere near the number of houses needed.

Labor’s solution to their home-grown inflation problem is to target older Australians who have paid their taxes and worked hard.

The Coalition will address the true causes of inflation – Labor’s wasteful government spending, misguided migration policy and follies like ‘Net Zero’ that undermine fuel, food & energy affordability and security.

On Budget Night Labor’s funds for ‘green hydrogen’ were quietly redirected and Labor claim they’ll stop turbocharging ‘climate’ related spending.  The Nationals and Coalition have dragged them kicking and screaming to what Mallee voters already know in huge numbers – Net Zero isn’t good for regions, households or the economy.

The Coalition will press on with our $5 billion housing infrastructure policy to help councils build the roads, plumbing, etc for new housing.  As part of the Coalition agreement, The Nationals’ Regional Australia Future Fund ensures regional Australia will get its fair share of that funding.

While Labor are cunning at their marketing, they are terrible in government.  The Coalition is laying out a fairer approach for all Australians.
